I say that could be due to the cumulative security update for internet explorer 11, based on my speculation. I experienced the same thing with some cumulative updates in the past, where my SSD-based system took longer time than necessary to reboot. I will post my experience after my reboot later.
Thanks @EFA11. I google KB# too, but it seems, M$ doesn't hurry to update pages of non security updates. EDIT. It seems, KB articles are up now.
The reverse might also be possible - that the documentation is withhold for let's say 24 hours so it hinders people doing an Exploit Wednesday XD (I'm completely ignoring the fact that people savvy enough to exploit such vulnerabilities don't usually read the KB's)
All the 13 different updates were installed successfully. It took my system about 90 minutes to reboot. Not so bad for a computer running on SSD.
There are additional 2 optional updates I didn't install though. They are: 1) Update for Windows 8.1 for x64-based Systems (KB2962409). Download size: 49.7 MB. 2) Update for Windows 8.1 for x64-based Systems (KB2967917). Download size: 21.4 MB
I make an image of the systems every Monday prior to patch Tuesday. I install everything offered except silverlight and bing things. BTW bing and Silverlight no longer are offered, I found a way around it finally lol Code: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Silverlight] "UpdateMode"=dword:00000002
need moooar ram dunno, I got 32GB ram, 3.46Ghz A-10, no SSD on this one. I do have many TB of drives to load, usually 6 seconds to get to desktop. Took a good 2 minutes after reboot.
