    If you read the help text of resetbase it says:
    WARNING! The installed Windows Updates cannot be uninstalled after the /StartupComponentCleanup with /ResetBase operation is completed.

    That means do not use the command.

    Or, as abbodi1406 found out, you have to:
    1. install the new updates
    2. run the RestBase dism command again
    3. uninstall the superseded updates.

    In the past this way (1. new add, 2. old remove) was always a way with trouble.
    Especially, if there are updates with version number changes.
    Some updates even do not change the version number.
    So if you uninstall the superseded update after installation of the new one, it could happen,
    that the superseding update was also partially uninstalled and a
    later uninstallation of the new update was not possible.

    So it's really the best not to use the command.

    With Windows 8.1 Preview and rtm

    I have problems with some programs installed to boot after being compatiles as Adobe Illustrator CS6 or CC once installed presents the following error when run this aplicaión tartar is not compatible with the current operating system language . Open the Control Panel "Regional and Language Options" in the Windows Start menu. Then, in the Advanced tab (in Vista, the Administration tab), change the setting "Language for non-Unicode programs" to match the language of the application. and with windows 8 without having installed the 8.1 preview this program works and runs without any problem. I would like to help me by providing a requested [on for this program to run in the 8.1. thanks

    seems windows 8.1 will be getting a big update in the spring look it up on google serch softpedia article i cant post link not enough posts yet

    It will effectively be a small service pack (on top of the big service pack for Windows 8 ;)).

    I hope it doesn't set the update as some sort of pending thing to stop the resetbase from working

    im thinking it will pretty much replace all prior updates that where relased effectivly making all the current windows 8.1 fixes superseeded

    what does "old for bad" means?...should i understand that "these updates
    are unnecessary"?
