Oh, I wish I had this cleverness to just pick the ones I really need exactly for the same possible reasons as Murphy... it's a shame I don't have it Indeed I need to download just the relevant updates for integration in my Windows 8.1 AIOs for the benefit of size and less possible conflicts as you well said. The question is, how can I acquire such criterion?
1) Install non-updated version on vm. 2) check wuapp. 3) move existing msu files from list to verified folder 4) download missing ones 5) copy all those files to flash drive, connect UFD to VM, and run the command: Code: forfiles /m *.msu /c "cmd /c Echo ===Installing @FILE===&wusa @FILE /quiet /norestart" 6) reboot and repeat 2-5 to pick up any stragglers 7) move non-used msu files from previous month's msu folder to an "old" folder in case you need them for some reason later If you wanna get more anal about the updates, you can install the servicing stack first, then the rollups, then check for the remaining updates. There was a recent update, something like 2926765 or something that got absorbed into a recent rollup. If you want to get really easy-mode you can simply use a VHD file and mount the thing and just copy/paste the .cab files from the softwaredistribution\download folder to use as your monthly integration provided by wuapp.exe. I prefer using msu files for my integrations, but there's nothing wrong with using cabs.
Thanks for great answer. But the problem is that not all updates offered are available on net, for example KB2976978 which introduced in July 2014 but I can't find download link for it, neither from MS Download Center nor Microsoft Update Catalog; how do you treat these updates? Regards,
Very simple ) Control panel - Action center - Change action center settings - Customer experience improvement program settings - Yes, I want to participate in the program. Save Changes and check Windows Update; now it suggest you install KB2976978 update. And many others that are offered only to participants of the program, by the way.
Sorry for the dumb question, it's obvious the need of IE. Didn't saw it due to the rush... edit: and activeX hehe.
