I would like to compress install.wim from Vista iso to install.esd and use it with Windows 8.1 installer to save space. I have compressed already wim file from Vista and put it into 8.1 iso file. During stage "Getting files ready for the installation", when it's completed in 85%, it becomes 100% in one second, and after reboot I got this error: It means that Installer cannot continue. If there is a solution for this problem? Is it possible to use newer installer with Vista?
