And another "Specialist's" with their big mouth just complaining about everything what some company is producing. Yelling on the other hand for to get everything for free. Those are the Dog's who bite's the hand'd which feed them!
Not shure, what some people try to prove here . Would like to see, where this simple truth is failing here. All stands or falls with optimized drivers. Remember moments where new graphics drivers for Win 7, i.e. Forceware, as i´m using GeForce Cards, completely failed. There were several occasions i reinstalled the elder ones . Regarding the "Start Button' for Win 8.1 i expected it opening the 'Start screen`, as people in majority screamed for the 'Button' not the 'Menu' . Have no problem with this, as Tihiy already started developing 'StartIsBack+'.
I can agree its a mess. because of programs that I waited for updates to, so they would work on 8, dont work again with windows 8.1
why blame it on W8 or 8.1? Perhaps your apps' author is lazy to update his files so that they fit with new windows. Sometimes, a view from another side can be helpful as well ....
Windows 8 period is junk. I think that goes without saying that any point release is also gonna be trash.
I wonder when MS will make a brand new Windows that gets rid of all the backward capability it has always had. I bet if they did that, the size would go down a bit and it would run much smoother as it does not have to do any extra work. Does anyone also wish they would do this, or is it just me?
I using windows Enterprise 8.1 RTM version and everything works well here no real bugs in the system so far as I use It Upgrading went smootly and the only thing that did not work was bluestacks but reinstalling that program fixed it !! Updates trough windows also is working so no complains here Greetz Base
If they did that on x64 versions of Windows, hardly anything would run on them. Most games would not run. Most internet apps and plugins would not work. They actually did stop supporting 16bit stuff by default back in xp I think. I think once most of the systems are more capable and have faster ram and hard disks, they will likely abandon 32-bit stuff as well. Unfortunately, I think that might take another few years at a minimum.
I installed a 16-bit application in Windows 8.1 x86 RTM in (XP XP3) compatibility mode, it works fine. It is a 1994 vintage application, installed from a floppy disk.
Can I install Windows 8.1 pro RTM en-GB x64 over en-US x64 RTM without losing my applications such as MS office 2013 pro plus?. if so, how I can do it? or any identical alternative? I have my own legit 8.0 pro and WMC keys, but office pro activation was over Skype phone, that's why I do not want to deal with office activation again. Btw, current installed en-US RTM works like a charm.
any deployment method or en-GB language pack now or after GA update? I think my 8.0 pro was en-GB, too.
