The 8.1 Preview, even the x64 version seems to be pickier then Win 8 RTM.

maybe try re-burning at 4x speed, or your slowest speed. and try again.

Tried with Windows 8.1 x64 and Windows Server 2012 r2, both crash in any situation, even in VMware. Windows 8.1 x86 is instalable on VMware, but it works pretty bad. I have an old CPU, most likely a certain feature of the CPU, of which on their forums it says it is a must, is missing. Most likely, a similar situation hapend last year for thoose who had a x86 CPU with no NX bit feature, could not upgrade from Windows 7 to 8. Someone on this forum discovered a workaround for that, even if it is pretty buggy, yet. Hopefully something similar will hapend in here as well.

    I get this this message

You can't install Windows 8.1 Preview because your processor doesn't support CompareExchange128.

    Any help?
