Windows 8.1 RTM actually has not the quality to be a final release already.

That's not a bug. They actually started using people's ram rather than just never touching it.
IMO it's about time I actually got to start using my memory.

I've got the same mobo as you and I'm also having problems with Windows 8.1. I'm dual booting and Windows 7 runs perfectly without any problems whatsoever, as did Windows 8 before I installed Windows 8.1. Since I installed it, I've had three freezes already where the computer won't respond so I have to reset. There appears to be a crazy amount of disk accessing going on before the lockups. Still clueless as to what's causing it and there's nothing in the event logs. Windows reports that I'm only using about 1.8gb out of 8gb, so it's not like I'm running out memory. I have a feeling that it might be windows defender. Anyone else having lockups? I'll try disabling it.

Have you tried installing the drivers from the Asus website? I did and they seem to work better than the default windows drivers, but I'm still having random lockups.o_O
