I hear yeah waiting myself for RTM as i am due a reinstall. (Something i do every 6 months or so, clean PC inside and out keep it fresh.)
What is the meaning of this pic? Just curious what information we are able to get from it. EDIT - sorry, didn't see the pic with build string including "rtm."
Those pics are meant to show the supposed build number and date of Windows 8.1 RTM. However, it is questionable whether the long form build string will have 'winblue' (Windows Blue, Windows 8.1's codename) in it. The other thing to consider is that the true RTM will not have a specific build number. I'm not sure of what that will be, but in all likelihood it is 9600. Since Windows Blue is an evolution of the Windows Vista codepath, and yes, that is true! The final build string in theory should be 6.3.9600, so even if builds are labelled as 'RTM' they aren't true RTM without that build number. These recent builds with 'rtm' in their name does show that it is close to release, they are just making some final small changes.
I also made a mistake in that the true RTM will have a specific build number, instead of it not having one!
Yesterday I tried to download W8.1 Preview via store in Windows 8 and seems is not available on that way.I wonder if they preparing Store for Windows8.1 RTM...?????
