Yes, that is true also Supposedly, the final build number should be along the lines of 6.3.9600.16384. Windows 7 was 16385 due to a last minute fix.
Yup, and just a side-note: I saw people said that it has to be divisible by 100 because the last 4 bits of the binary string is reserved for SP's blah blah..... Actually it was because in Vista times the Exchange head(forgot his name) was transferred to Windows, and this guy likes special builds to be in 100-rounded-up numbers, that's all, nothing to do with SP's.
Nice statement...faster compared to what? The speed improvements i saw so far mostly affect the Metro-Crap, which some people like me don´t use at all.

It doesn't matter. It only matters what the final RTM lands on. They usually round up to the next hundred. It will likely be 9500 or 9600.
By prediction, the first sign-off candidate may be 6.3.9600.16384, so they still have a week to "kill them all".
