CODBO2, Had to install the latest MS driver for both graphics and sound. The only other thing I did was install DX 9
Found the issue with some games locking to 60 fps ....ie SR 4 I found the fix... when I install drivers I only install the core and the physx. No 3d stuff even though I have a 3d 120hz supported LCD. Apparently in Windows 8 / 8.1 without those drivers something from 3d stereoscopic is enabled by default. Once I install the 3d driver, even though it's still disabled I dont get locked at 60 fps.

I migrated my kid's computer, Athlon II X4 2.8Ghz, 8GB, Radeon 4870 from Win8 to Win81 (clean install with retail key), and all his games ran flawless, I know this is an unsupported card and netflix and some other stuff wont work, but with Catalyst 13.1 for legacy cards all games ran ok. Btw, windows update downloaded some driver, but it lacks opengl capabilities, then i reverted to basic display adapted driver, rebooted and installed cats 13.1, everything was ok then.
