    Hi

I have been trying to change my language all day but I cant seem to execute the command "dism /Online /Add-Package /PackagePath:C:\lp.cab" in my command prompt. I get the above error. I have downloaded the language pack and put it in my root C drive and renamed it ip.cab
Any ideas what I´am doing wrong would be welcome!

    You're serious, aren't you?
Why do you suppose they called it "Single Language"?

You *CAN* use a different language with your same key, but you have to re-install Windows with the specified single language ISO.
So try to find the single language in the preferred language for download and then install from boot.

Yes I am aware that I CAN do this but I would rather try and add it in if I CAN.

It really that hard to wrap your mind around the idea of a "Single Language" version of Windows?
It's designed so that you cannot change the language.

So the guys over at super user that have posted how to do this are wrong? Maybe I should just bow down to your superior intellect and accept that Murphy knows all. Or, maybe you should try to post helpful comments on the things that you at least know something about!

I just signed up, asked a valid question and the response was less than helpful. It was rude!

I belong anywhere where people are civil and act with respect.

It seems that this post is just going to get bombarded with Murphys mates now. Great, all I wanted was a solution to my problem. To be told it cant be done when it has been done and is being done by others is really disappointing.

If there is someone with some info then please post, otherwise stay out of it!

These are the commands I wanted to use:
    dism /Online /Add-Package /PackagePath:C:\lp.cab
    dism /Online /Get-Packages > c:\file.txt
    dism /Online /Remove-Package /PackageName:Microsoft-Windows-Client-LanguagePack-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~ru-RU~6.3.9600.1638

Like I said above, only offline LP servicing shall be done to MUI-unsupported SKUs.

Boot into recovery console. Assuming Windows is installed to the first partition of the first drive (not counting EFI/MSR partitions) . When booted to PE, drive letters do shift, and MSR is assigned C: . So:

    Code:
    dism /image:D: /get-packages /format:table | findstr /C:LanguagePack
//copy the name of the package to remove
    dism /image:D: /Add-Package /PackagePath:D:\lp.cab
    dism /image:D: /Remove-Package /PackageName:Microsoft-Windows-Client-LanguagePack-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~ru-RU~6.3.9600.16384
    dism /image:D: /Set-SKUIntlDefaults:target
//where target is the locale of the CAB added earlier
    //reboot
if the bootscreen change to Vista's and the bootloader is displayed in the classic UI, don't panic - log in, open an administrator console in the system, and change the locale of the bootloader as described earlier to match the LP code selected.
