    you have a full year from the 29th to get the free upgrade. if you do a new DIY pc, just install 7 or 8 on it and upgrade. OR just buy 10 if you are going to build a new DIY, just tack it on to the price of the system. Give MS some money and you get some piece of mind lol

    Doggie was concidering ... :cool2:.

    Actually it's a generic key like used in Win 7 OEM:SLP activation. An unique key isn't needed when the HWIDs get sent to MS.

    Hi guys. What about changing license key? Would that be alright for a legit windows 10 upgrade? Here is what I mean in detail:
    - windows 8.1 pro x64 kms-pico activated
    - uninstalling kms pico thus stopping the service from running
    - buying a legal, original and retail 8.1 license key.
    - changing it through my computer or cmd prompt
    - upgrading to windows 10 pro on 7/29
    Would it work?
