Windows 8.1 with Update ESDs Repository

Yep, ESD would be approx 25% smaller than WIM. Only little hook ... ESDs cannot be serviced .

 

Yah, convert to esd didn't work for me, probably because host OS is still Win7 I was using portable WADK lite with direct calls, which worked fine for capture but evidently some commands not working under Win7. Better test the install.wim in VM first before installing it live

EDIT: btw, before you sysprep Win8.1 Core Single Language, can you remove the re-arm counts with the delwpa.bat (delete wpa stuff) trick? Or does this require something else? I've sysprep'd Win8 before but it's been ages.

Guys, how often these ESDs are updated by M$ .?

 

With Win7, I always put this little delwpa.bat file on the root of C:\ in the VM and then reboot with the Win7 installation iso mounted and choose Repair, then command prompt and run the .bat file to delete the wpa stuff so that the image doesn't run out of sysprep counts. The .bat file contains:

You can convert to esd in win7 if you are using the 5.x adk
If you didn't shove all the files in the same folder, you need to run the dev tools adk command prompt from your start menu link.

Hello, I am having problems with the activation, via MTK.
I am even not able to activate with a retail key activation, when I click into activate button the system starts loading the metro configuration and activation screen, but never loads, just shows a blank screen...
Can anybody give any clue about it?
Is it really necessary to use the tokens.dat to activate?
My version is Win 8.1 Pro WMC es-es

Suppose I hv windows 8.1 core install.wim.
Can I change/convert it to 8.1 Pro & 8.1 Pro with WMC from that core install.wim.

Nope. No such conversion and for ProWMC Pro is mandatory.

I've downloaded this ESD file 'x86fre_coresinglelanguage_en-gb.esd' and i already have this file 'HRM_CCSA_X86FRE_EN-US_DV5' (Windows 8 pro X86). Could some one help me to create a bootable ISO file using a step by step procedure .I would like to have Windows 8.1 with update X86 ISO pro or core as the end product.

 

#1. You need Core or CoreSingleLanguage? The one you got needs to be decrypted and converted to WIM first .

#2. The Windows is 8 not 8.1, so no way to convert to 8.1 with update.

#3. Easiest way would be to get a Retail Win 8.1 with update ISO (the multiple-editione ones = Pro and Core) and use this as base.

 

How will i decrypt and convert it to install.wim if i cant use esd files then could you tell me what is the exact use of this file , i desperately need to make one bootable windows 8.1 ISO from this
