    Hey,

Am i right these esd's are the same as i get when i use the media creation tool ?
Also is there a way to get both core and pro in 1 file ?
Normally used a copy of a original dvd that seems to have both, and not sure if i will get same result if i merge both esd converted to wim into 1,
Wintoolkit does not seem to support 8.1 to that point yet. though i am pretty sure command line will let me do it.

But do want to have it properly instead the version of the one i enter the license key of. if i enter a core license i get core if pro a pro version.

    Thanks in advance.

mct still offers the IR4 esd (August refresh), this thread offers latest IR5 (November refresh)

you could create full iso for pro edition
    then create install.wim for core
    then merge both

it would be easier if you just obtained MSDN iso instead
but yes, manual merge will give the same result as original iso

what do you mean? Wintoolkit do support windows 8.1

I plan to use the IR5 version, but with wintoolkit when i try to merge both they complain about finding no sources directory, reported this bug today as well.
Though you answered my question, doing it by hand will result in the same type of image as the dvd version, and sadly i do not have access to msdn iso, only original dvd, and also no clue if the msdn iso has IR5 in it or not.
If you happen to know a offical iso with that i would need the dutch version, so if you could point me in the right direction to save me some time, a big thank you :).

So, you are saying conclusively that downloading the pro ESD does not provide pro/core ISO?

Do a complete upgrade and have the key in C:\Windows\Panther\windlp.state.xml

no dism-version this time, wimlib is doing fine :)

You using the default updates (a couple of them are unchecked), or you're forcing win update to install all of them in a single pass?

I download this windows pt-br x86 IR5 and Win 8.1 pro x86 on "Create Media Install" on Microsoft Webpage (windows.microsoft.com/pt-br/windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media) and install both 2 in VMworkstation. Follow aspects:
    - "Media Install" is 2.643.132.416 bytes.
    - IR5 of this is 2.169.503.744 bytes.

    - "Media install" is installed in 6:48min.
    - IR5 of this is installed in 7:05min.

    - "Media install" update before installation show 40 important and 12 optional updates. (this is 352,6mb all updates) (-100mb of IR5)
    - IR5 of this update before installation show 29 important and 9 optional updates. (this is 453,0mb all updates)

    - "Media install" before install all important updates, local disk C:\ size is 10,348mb
    - IR5 of this before install all important updates, local disk C:\ size is 10,911mb

Conclusion: The best option is download from "Create Installation media for Windows 8.1"
