That made me laugh, hard. Helps that I just finished watching a YouTube video... They always seem to say that.
I stumbled upon a problem..i made a bootable DVD with ImgBurn and installed Windows 8.1,after installation computer restarts and then after booting says The computer restared unexpectedly or encountered unexpected error.Windows installation cannot proceed... I reinstalled but every time i get same message, found on google that using command prompt and changing setup registry value can fix this but there is no setup in my registry at all. How can i fix this?
Hmm, my little notebook with 2 GB RAM runs Win 8 ProfessionalWMC x64 very fine (but fails to even boot from any Win 8.1 install media) . Although OPs Athlon might lack some features needed for x64 .
perhaps the Athlon in combination with only 2gig ram might cause the problem assuming that no other hardware malfunction is present
Normally 2GB is enough for 64bit! Disadvantage is that the Multitasking will not work properly because of to less memory! Just open 2 or 3 apps would still be ok! Anyway with that low Memory, I would go for 32bit instead of 64bit! Just a few days ago I tested Debian Wheezy 7.5 64bit on an older Pentium 2 Core with 1 GB Memory installed as desktop with GUI and it worked quite well. Ok, that wasn't Windows and Linux is not that Memory hungry!! MS recommend for 64bit min. 2GB RAM! Edit: wrote MB instead GB: CHANGED now. Sorry for that!
you are right that 2GB is minimum requirement for x64 but I encountered problems with such low ram on several machines in the past, put another ram unit in and voila, problems were solved. Ram usage with 8.1.1 is different to older versions of windows and I'm quite sure that it CAN cause issues ...
