Question: I bought 2 upgrade licenses (14.99) using the same computer to complete the purchase, I used the first key on the same machine to install Windows 8 and activate it, and I want to give the second to my brother, will it work? or the keys are already locked the the originating machine?
I just tried this, and it doesn't seem to work... It'll let you do an install (I did custom), but Windows won't actually activate. But maybe I'm doing something wrong? Can anyone else shed some light as to if getting a product key via this upgrade offer works with a win8 RTM disc (that I believe is MSDN hash-checked) with a clean (custom) install?

I don't know if other people read this from MS. Some people are worried about using this promo on another computer. Giving away the promo code to someone else. Here is what MS has to say. Upgrade Software Each upgrade license will apply to only one PC and may only be installed on PCs with a valid base license to a qualifying operating system (i.e., Windows XP SP3, Windows Vista or Windows 7). While the offer will be limited to eligible customers who purchase a qualified PC, the upgrade may be installed on any compatible Windows-based PC with a qualifying operating system (see Windows 8 System Requirements). Customers should visit their PC manufacturer’s website for more information about how to upgrade their PC to Windows 8, including updated software and drivers. So that tells me unless I am misunderstanding. You are free to give away the promo code to another person if you so choose and do not want it. As long as the other computer will qualify OS wise. Or it can be the other way around. The said user purchases the upgrade with promo code and is free to giveaway the activation key.

Well, simply i cant get a promo key, im trying many times on the promo webpage, i entered all the stuff but im not eligible for the key. i entered my windows 7 original key, without luck, thats why im begging for a promo code.. if you can to get one, please can you send me?
In case anyone is having problems with having to enter their Windows 7 product key to register; use a different browser. IE and Firefox both requested a product key from me, switched to Chrome and no such request
