It turn out windows 8 pro upgrade is only £24.99. Not £39.99 lol.

(pormo code will only save £10. Its not a big deal for me)

Just Bought windows 8 pro upgrade officially form microsoft website for only £24.99 without pormo code lol. Problem solved.

This is my last post in this unhelpful thread where some people don't understand different between promotion code and product serial key. ( but thanks to a member who message me for help, but i don't need )

    Edit
    Mind your language guys!
    (" .... Begging ....." , " ...... I'll be watching you ......" )

I don't think you get it.

"...especially unique keys of paid applications." No one paid FOR the promo code. You would pay for the Windows 8 Pro upgrade key.

A promo code is just what it says it is. It's not a key or serial for a paid application or operating system.

Why is everyone being so dense about the interpretation of this rule? Promo codes HAVE NO RESALE VALUE. Why can't we ask for someone to share their unused code?

    1) I believe but not entirely certain .. you will be limited to the architecture of the machine at which you make the purchase from (x86 or x64)
    2) you won't be able to use the ISO that you download at purchase to do install if no W7 OS present
    2) to install you must use ISO which accepts your upgrade key or do rearm work around

THIS ENTIRE THREAD IS ABOUT ACQUIRING THE PROMO CODE. How is it off-topic?

Sheesh. In another thread, I might agree.

The instructions are clear. If someone can't get the promo code, there are two possible scenarios:

    1) They didn't read the instructions carefully. Therefore they should re-read them.
    2) The loophole has been closed and doesn't work anymore. In that case, anyone who has an extra should be kind enough to gift it to another if they don't plan to use it themselves.

The rules are pretty damn clear about serials and keys, but say NOTHING to effect regarding promotional codes.

You are more dense as a certain Greek idiot. Just drop it. Both redroad and myself have tried explaining it numerous times and yet everyone just drags it on. Once again, an admin eventually will step in and set this crap straight...

Besides being against forum rules, which the moderators have made clear their wishes on a number of occasions, there are practical reasons why this is not a good idea ..

    1) Promo code .. let's say someone has a promo code that they haven't used but then shares it publicly .. How long do you think that code is going to remain valid in that scenario .. would you go through the whole process to use it knowing that countless others have access to it and odds are you at the very least wasted your time because when you try to use it it's already flagged as used  or let say
you get the promo code through a PM and it comes from a country other than your own and it gives you the message "this offer is not available in your country" .. There are many reasons that this approach to get a promo code is just a waste of time besides the obvious of which it breaks the forum rules .. The continual requesting does nothing but disrupt the flow of this thread and other thread where a promo code is needed .. The sensible author of a post often just says "PM me if you have a need" .. At the end of the day those of us who are out here answering questions daily will end up helping those whose installs have failed because their key is no longer valid or it's not activating

To the mods and admins I know you have corrected many who have cluttered the threads with such nonsense please just include the words "Promo Code" in the rules so we don't continually have to keep revisiting this stuff .

    Hey Guys,

Like the quote above, and many others I've seen, I've been trying unsuccessfully to get a promo key.
Tried all sorts of countries, using proxies in the same country, tried all sorts of brands and models.
No matter what I do, I'm either being requested for a Win7 key, or I get a "we're sorry" message saying I'm ineligible for the promo.
I've actually tried entering a legal Win7 key of a system I have (which I've had since before September), this also brings me to the "we're sorry" page.

As it is apparently forbidden, I won't be asking for a promo key (although I'd be very grateful to receive one), but could any of you guys who have no problem to generate promo keys explain what country they are doing it from, and what kind of input do they use?

    Many thanks in advance!

Just did it. Entered your date, used "best buy" for retailer, brand Toshiba, model "U845W" (currently being sold in Best Buy with Win7 Home Prem).
Got the page asking for a Win7 key.
Perhaps you care to share the rest of the details you've provided? Even in a PM, if you prefer it that way.

    Thanks again.
