OEM PRO 64 EN brought from a shop File: HRM_CCSA_X64FRE_EN-GB_DV5.iso CRC-32: 9cff6585 MD4: cf8d528b0c82eaa5ce6dc7d1fab58b42 MD5: 88b031b9e508a095469ce511cd7a057f SHA-1: 661cd1a9b7b1e30ccbb320930157a36e5ec94b49
I can confirm mine is all upgraded and is activated i upgraded from in the os its self in win 7 from using a loader. A thanks would be apreicated if proof needed ill do so once i have chrome installed and my bt driver
Just fresh installed with the new ISO. As predicted, the installation works, the activation doesn't. This is just an upgrade code and it works as such.
Yes but in the end its all the same, like I said before the reset option basically formats and does a clean install while keeping the activation. Still not bad for 15 dollars.
I'm currently unable to test myself, but I have something to try. To do clean installs with my win7 upgrade disk I had to change a registry key before it would activate. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Setup/OOBE Change "MediaBootInstall" from "1" to "0" after doing that I used typed "slmgr /rearm" into a command prompt, waited for conformation prompt, restarted my pc and activated. This method might work for win8
I purchased today for £14.99 using my promo code from the buy a new windows 7 pc offer!! I didn't even buy a new pc I just gave them some BS!! they didn't even ask me for a COA key from my new pc either!! all is ok The key they gave me works for both upgrade and clean install.
Lucky, it requested one when I did it, but just put in my COA underneath, I purchased my Laptop in 2010, just put down I got it in Sept 2012, accepted it
I just got a code also and didn't need to put in a COA. I figure if you do need a COA just look up laptop pics on google for one.
I have a question!! using the Windows Upgrade Assistant to download your purchase it creates a hidden folder on your c drive called ESD when opened there the contents of an extracted iso!! in the sources folder there is install.esd and no install.wim?? doe's anyone know how to change the file extention from install.esd to install.wim? it cannot be mounted either??
Just changed key on KMS activated Pro with new Upgrade key activation worked without reg tweak and didn't need to reinstall anything. slmgr.vbs -ipk xxxxx-xxxxx slmgr.vbs /ato
Thank you sir! confirmed to work 100%! Just want to ask do we have to change "MediaBootInstall" back to 1?
I'm glad to hear this method still works Nope, that flag just tells the system how you installed, 1=From Boot & 0=From Windows
So, I'm typing this from my new 8 Pro , activated and genuine. It took some time, cause like others I thought I could do clean install of win8 and then input key. It didn't work that way. It is an Upgrade Key ! I didn't want to mess with my old and comfortable win7 install, so I grabbed a spare drive, put fresh 7 on it, used Daz loader, and then copied the ESD folder that the upgrade advisor program makes and ran it. I followed the prompts, entered the key and it says "Your product key works! Continue when you're ready." I had ran the adviser on my old 7 and copied the ESD folder that it makes from it to new 7 drive. Moving and copying that folder didn't affect it in any way. Maybe I could try this on another drive and see what happens. Daz loader caused no problems. Active legit win8 for 15 bucks. Good deal
At the bottom of my $14.99 W8 upgrade confirmation email it says: Note: You must order your upgrade using the PC that you wish to upgrade. It sounds like the download will be tied to that PC I had hoped to just Dl the ISO & wait for another time to install wherever I wanted. Though if (as posted earlier in this thread) one can also order the media, don't think that could be tied to a certain PC. What do you guys think? Dl is tied to the PC that one downloads the W8 data/.iso from?
I don't think it is. Read my post. I downloaded on one 7 install and moved it to another. No problems
