Hi, I plan to take advantage of this offer and download a couple of ISOs and serial keys, but I won't be using then until next year in some self-build PCs. I have a retail version of Windows 7 to run the upgrade from, my question is does upgrade have a time limit or is it download and upgrade whenever you want? Thanks
Does anyone know how to change the country and currency in the Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant. I am in the UK and the windows 8 upgrade assistant gets the price in UK Pounds (£) I want to pay and get the price in US Dollars ($) Anyone know how? I guess it either checks your ip address location or some windows registry settings ? Anyone know what to change ? And also this is the only way to purchase it using this upgrade tool ? You can't do it online no ? UPDATE : Found out how to do it. Seems to work by your internet ip location. So if you use a usa proxy you get the price in $ etc.
I confirm, in europe too the price is €14.99 for the upgrade, I used a US vpn and paid $14.99 (€11.97). downloading right now.
The ISO file is so small, only 2.63GB. I hope this is the x64 ISO i downloaded when I bought the upgrade. The autorun.inf on the ISO says this: Code: [AutoRun.Amd64] open=setup.exe icon=setup.exe,0 [AutoRun] open=sources\SetupError.exe x64 icon=sources\SetupError.exe,0
Well i can say that i did the same, bought 2 licenses yesterday where i registered for the 14.99 offer and both activated with fresh install.
does anyone know how to get the iso downloaded now. i accidentally before reading this clicked install and now i have no way of getting the iso downloaded it seems. can anyone help i didnt actually want to install it on this system i wanted the iso to burn. does anyone have the current working links for the pro version i tried to access them in my technet account but it says i cant even download them because my account is expired. help?? thank you
At the root of your drive it should have made a folder called ESD. Inside is another folder called Windows. Inside it are the exact same files as in the iso. A free program called folder2iso should make you what you need but whether it will be bootable or not I'm not sure. I'm sure it can be done. I did choose to make iso and compared it to the contents of ESD folder, identical contents. Hope this helps Edit: I actually copied that folder to another machine and ran it and it worked fine. You could try that also
Yes, the program checks your ip location and you get the price based on where you are. So if you want the price in a different currency you have to use a vpn to get an ip address in that country. For reference, the india price (699 INR) seems to be the best, if you can find a free india vpn. The india price converts to around $13 or €10.05 or £8
got a whole bunch of keys now lol. no need to worry about a workaround now. thanks!! grabbed a total of 10 keys 5 for each me and my wife since they have a limit of 5. NICE
Got myself one too. Downloaded Windows 8 Pro and save it as ISO but I think is 32bit, is only 2.63 GB in size. I tried to download it again but I can not, it seems that the one I just downloaded, beside the one I saved, there other copy somewhere on system. I have to locate it to delete it.
Give this a try, head over to the website and choose "Canada-English" this works without the windows 7 key or COA key.
