Still no go. Are you in Canada? Perhaps they are geolocating by IP. I tried it again with Incognito and all different info. Still asking for a key.
Try use Chrome. I am using Chrome on my Mac OS X and it doesn't even ask for my COA key... I already gotten 5 promo codes.
i have a few doubts about this upgrade offer: 1. the upgrade offer page does not ask any specific number. we can enter any random date, month, year and select any brand and model name. i received an email immediately containing my upgrade offer code. when i enter the code in upgrade assistant, it deducted the price and i can download the iso in $14 only. so my question is what is the difference in normal download link given by upgrade assistant and the download link given after entering promo code? if both are same then why anyone will want to spend more money if he can grab a promo code easily? second question is, which edition of windows 8 is downloaded by upgrade assistant? is it 32 bit or 64 bit? it does not allow us to select the edition.
tried Chrome on a PC and asked for key, tried Opera on a MAC and worked like a charm, no keys asked, it seems they want MAC users onboard Cheers!
try totally clearing your browser history and cache after i did 5 it blocked and asked for coa cleared cache and all was fine again edit: can someone link me to where it shows how to edit the cfg file to allow both versions i know i saw it somewhere and now i cant find it. thank you
Still asking for a key for me as well; tried once earlier with my normal email; tried again in incognito + different email. For the people who were able to get the upgrade without a win7 key; could you share a bit more information? Specifically: Region/Language used Computer make/model given Retailer given Date
Still having no luck :/ Tried 3 completely different information for names and email; and cleared cache between each try, and tried Walmart, Staples, and Lenovo. Tried Acer + Aspire, and Lenovo + IdeaPad U400, no go
How much time does it take for Windows 8 to download? I am still stuck at 0 percent. I have nice internet speed but I am still waiting :/ I can't see any action in the firewall as well
I guess, that you do not care that, as you are getting the promo codes illegally*, you are paying for a license which is basically not legit. * You are not fulfilling the (legal) requirements for receiving the promo code, so the subsequent purchase does not result in a legally valid license.
I guess you can say that to those that bought the computer just to get the promo code than return the bought computer.
Look sparky, I bought two upgrades for computers I own at 14.99 and one upgrade for an older PC at 39.99. Go away, you're annoying.
So, just to capitulate: 1.- Get the promo code (I live in Mexico, they don't ask for COA or Key. I have one though). 2.- Run the upgrade assistant on ANY computer, imput the code, purchase you upgrade key 3.- Install Windows 8 Pro x64 booting from MSDN ISO (this is my case) with the upgrade key 4.- Change MediaBootInstall=1 to MediaBootInstall=0 5.- Activate your copy of Windows that was used to make a clean install, not upgrade within Windows. Is this correct?
Did you change the MediaBootInstall=1 to MediaBootInstall=0 Or did it just work without changing anything?
