That coincidence. I'm watching this show, I take a break to check out any development on this forum, and I see this.
So called "win8.2" is not even a rumor, just some journalist's imagination(or invention). There's not much known about win9, we know a fact (from Larson Green), there won't be win9/winRT/WP9, just win9. So far the rumor I heard: The (new)kernel will be further slimmed down, will be compatible with a 1GHz CPU, and work in lego-fashion for different devices, Store will provide APPs for PC/tablet/phone altogether so user could pick according to the device.....and expect a preview maybe next June.
I had to open the store in 8.1 just now to see what it looks like heh I haven't seen it since first install.
Attention guys: CLOWN is back on other website and produces first 8.2 screenshots which are fake of course
The idea of dropping Windows Phone 8 and RT stands a very big chance of actually working IMO. Has anybody here played with a Dell Venue 8 Pro yet? It's a $300 USD tablet that runs Windows 8.1 x86, 2GB of RAM, 32GB SSD, 1200x800 IPS screen, etc. and even though it runs on an Intel Atom CPU, the quad-core processor benchmarks right on par with a Core 2 Duo E4400...I was astonished. I had to go out and actually buy one while they were on sale during all of the Black Friday deals. I honestly think if Dell can pull off a $300 tablet that actually performs decently (I say decently as in keeping up with Core 2 Duos which are slow by today's standards but can still easily run Win8) that a premium $500-600 phone running a Bay Trail CPU, 2GB of memory, some flash storage, and a 6 inch or so IPS screen could be squished down and crammed into a smartphone. Would I want one though? - yeah, probably. I'd give up my iPhone 5S if somebody offered me a phone that ran 8.1 x86 on it with decent specs, and I have a feeling that if something like this is pulled off well enough that it could easily cut into Apple and Samsung's sales no sweat. Nobody would have to worry about the lack of applications for this kind of a smartphone...they already run on Windows and it's a pretty damn big internet. I'd love to see a smartphone like such cut into Apple and Samsung's revenues. I think Apple has amazing hardware, but the ecosystem is so locked down that you end up being one of Apple's many puppets, and I think Samsung has equally impressive hardware but I'm just not impressed by Samsung or even Android any more - and I've used Android smartphones for at least 2 years before I switched back to Apple. TL;DR: Windows 8.1 x86 on smartphones = GREAT SUCCESS. *Borat face + 2 thumbs up"
Need to have a check whether CLOWN has improved its photoshop skills or not. I think you WELL share the links of those first 8.2 screenshots
I certainly well not pollute this forum with faked pics even if they were funny. I'm sure someone well do this instead of me pretty soon
Does this mean that Windows NT will completely replace Windows CE in the future? In other words, is Windows CE discontinued and abandoned forever?!?!?
It's far too soon for Windows 8.2. I mean 8.1 just came out in October and the OEMs are just now getting around to releasing it on laptops. Personally I'd like to see a copy of Windows 9 as I wish to act as though Windows 8 never existed.
By History : Ten years to double the OS+CPU bit! 1980s DOS 16bit 1990s Windows3x/9x 32bit 2000s WindowsNT 32+64bit 2010s M$ continue making new versions of Windows by adding and castrating the functions, e.g. Win8 lacks Aero-glass Win7>>Win8>>Win8.1 WITHOUT ANY CONCRETE EVOLUTION! Can Win8.2/Win9 just by adding Aero-glass or other missing functions which originally in Win7 or Win8 or Win8.1 satisfy the users? M$, pls dont cheat the users! 2010s It is high time to have 128bit NEW OS and machine!
