hello everybody just for info i use Bitdefender Internet Security 2013,with win 8 pro 32 and it works perfect .
Norton Internet Security 19.8 and Norton 360 6.3 have just been updated to be compatible with Windows 8. They also fixed the nasty bug in the firewall that was limiting functionality in NIS 2012. Works great on Win8 64 bit Pro here.
Select pre-release updates in advanced setup and run update. Afterwords, HIPS should work fine in RTM.
I notice that Windows Defender does not update its database regularly, for example I was running Windows 8 for a full day after installation, while the database was out of date by about 35 days! Anyone know how frequently Windows Defender updates?
Using beta version of bullguard internet security 2013. Running fine so far. Huh But it worked for me. Did you updated again after selecting pre-release updates? Has hips module updated to 1055P (20120807)? Try rebooting system then update again then check hips. If hips says disable, just option its settings and close or untick enable hips and tick again.
What do you use then? By the way, Windows Defender on Windows 8 is actually Microsoft Security Essentials, which many people recommended for Windows 7.
I think avast is pretty good..... It's faster than other suites + the net is quite safer than before..... Not many people try hacking into other's PC.... Atleast, i don't get a lot of hacks to my PC.....!!
norton is a resource hog though. maybe their 2013 product will be better kaspersky's latest 2013 technical prewiev release works fine btw and they're getting close to the commercial release. any day now.
Glad to hear. btw; can you do me a favor? Open device manager, click show hidden devices in view menu and check if wan mini ports (ip, ipv6 and network monitor) are loaded and working.
huh thats so strange. For me they get "cannot load driver" error right after installing eset. Even doesn't fix after updates. Nor after uninstalling.
For me, even after restart HIPS is not working. Are you using 32 bit version of eset? I am using the 64bit version.
