I don't even install Mac OS X on my MacBook Pro. Compare to Windows 8, ML is disgustingly junk.

Using Windows 7 files on Windows 8? Are you kidding me? This is suicide! Windows 7 can't even boot up on a Mac using UEFI. Windows 8 does it beautifully installing from a USB flash drive, but it still didn't work for me. I am looking for a complete solution where I don't touch any hacks to get Windows 8 installed through UEFI using GPT partitions on my Macbook Pro (Early 2011).

    Is that even possible?.

I have mbpro 2007 it wont let me boot from usb from unknown reason.. screen gets appear that this firmware of laptopdont allow boot .. (windows) only OS X is able to boot ..
Then I burned orig win 8 onto dvd then inserted into mb pro dvd and ended up with that screen posted above so i tried one trick with swapping win 7 boot files and it DID THE TRICK why suicide? try it!

The link to the image does not work. I am blocked. Can you attach the image here?

Yes, I also installed Windows 8 successfully using DVD but it's going through the old BIOS/MBR method.

Plus I think someone here said the bootcamp drivers do not work when Windows 8 is installed using the UEFI/GPT method.

    - I did guide on how to use DISM to install on Mac w/ GPT & UEFI
    - Bootcamp will install, just update all possible drivers from w-w-w-station-drivers.com 1st "ex:Intel ME, Intel Chipset & graphic-> Install as Admin & select Win7 under "Compatibility Mode"

Do your settings look like this? What version of BOOTCAMP are you using? 3.0 or 4.0? Need 4.0!!!

Here screen shots for my MacBook Pro Early 2011 17" Only Issue is GPU Drivers, which will be fix sooner or later... If you follow guide I made you will be up running w/ working Windows 8 running BOOTCAMP on GPT booting w/ UEFI. Guide link "post #34"

My only problem is that driver package and I need it just for iSight cos only webcam needs driver..

    EDIT
I went through those links and when u right click on that installer and you choosed win 7 so i cant do it ..what i can use : use previous windows settings.. so probably that is why

I don't know if this method was posted in the last pages, if so please delete the message

This problem is there since WDP. I solved it this way:
1- Boot OSX and create 2 partitions a small one of 50 MB and format it as FAT32 and a Big one wich will be the Windows Partition format it as NTFS or fat
2- Use dism to copy the Win 8 partition's image of your PC (I meen NOT THE MAC but another computer based on Windows in wich is installed Win 8 ) on a portable device (like a USB Formatted as NTFS)
3- Boot from the Windows Installation DVD media (or from a WinPE FAT32 USB drive) -> enter the command prompt ->run diskpart and check the FAT32 Partition letter (X) and the Windows Partition (Y)
4- format the Windows Partition as NTFS then activate it (I don't think this operation is necessary for EFI Devices but do it just to be sure)
    5- exit diskpart and type: BCDBOOT Y:\WINDOWS /S X: /F UEFI
6- expand the copied Image to the Mac HDD Windows partition (after reformatting it as NTFS) By running DISM from the USB drive (I hope you know how to do that because it's hard to explain it again)

restart and enjoy Win 8 from your mac

IMPORTANT 90% sure your VPU won't work (no VBIOS on MAC) so keep using the basic drivers and don't upgrade them

these instructions are basicvally same from guide i made on Mac Rumors, if you have issue with black screen on Boot. I also posted this fix.

*** Guide has been tested & works on Mac Pro 2010 & " 2011 MacBook Pro 17" ISSUE"!!!
*** No Issue with Drivers on my Mac Pro with Nvidia Quadro 4000 for Mac.
*** MacBook Pro ISSUE FIX: Reset PRAM x3 "MBP reboots x3 while holding Command-Option-P-R"-> Hold Option Key on last PRAM BOOT -> Selected WINPE EFI From Boot Menu -> Install W8 Following Guide -> reboot holding Option Key-> Select EFI HD from Boot Menu -> u will see 15 Second Splash Screen then goes black & few minutes later it reboots. -> Next W8 BOOT 15 second Splash screen loads then it goes BLACK -> I waited 15 mins, not sure what happen. When i came back from smoking cigarette my MBP had power off or in deep sleep and I did not have power connected & reboots back to Black Screen on next W8 Boot. -> Give it good 10-15 minutes and force shutdown if it doesn't reboot or shutdown-> Boot to OSX -> remove /Windows/System32/Driver/igdkm64.sys from Windows Partition with Paragon NTSC Tools Enable & Then Disable Paragon Driver -> Disable Intel HD 3000 Driver On 1st BOOT to W8, igdkm64.sys will restore to your /Driver folder since it's system default driver. Only Issue is GPU Drivers.

    Let's revisit this issue.

I managed to install Windows 8.1 on my Macbook Pro Early 2011 17 inch through EFI method. Problem is, my AMD video and Cirrus Logic audio driver does not work. I can only use basic video driver.

I have updated all my firmware and software using Mac OS X 10.9.2 13C64 prior to installing Windows 8.1 using EFI method.

Anyone else have the same experience?
