How to create Windows 8 bootable DVD from ESD (electronic software download) downloaded files when there is NOT presented option to create DVD media (like for instance in Windows XP) Open some Windows 8 bootable DVD image (for instance evaluation version) with UltraISO: UltraISO, bootable, save boot file (for instance named:win8boot.bif) Close UltraISO The open UltraISO and add all files from downloaded directory ESD To make DVD bootable you MUST add bootfile: UltraISO, bootable, Load Boot File (select previously created/saved win8boot.bif) Then Save All done, and now you have Windows 8 bootable DVD
or just open a iso Windows 8 bootable DVD image delete the install.wim add the install.esd save as but if a have Windows 8 bootable DVD image why to create another???
Well I did NOT know this - thanks ! I myself did not have any (official) windows 8 dvd, so I first downloaded evaluation ISO version then when I have tested it for a while, I decided to purchase upgrade and what I have written in my original post - well I was not able to make bootable DVD from ESD that was the reason I wrote what I had I thought it might be useful to someone in simillar situation
Well, if you have downloaded win 8 from Msoft, after the download, you have the option to make a bootable .iso file or a bootable USB drive.
I had exported Boot.wim to Boot.esd using dism /compress:Recovery and replaced boot.wim with it in a 8.1 ISO, but it doesn't boot. Can boot.esd boot, or this format only available to Install.esd ?
