It's a problem with a tool, on some Windows versions doesn't work, I don't know why... Hopefully a new version will be reased this summer. And yes, you can go back by restoring the backups from within the tool.
Ok thanks dude, I guess I will just keep an eye on this thread until an updated tool is released lol.
My PC: -Windows 7 Ultimate X86 SP1 -RAM: 2GB When I installed it message come: win7bootupdater is stopped working. Windows try to....
The problem is the operating system... there's something that stops us from modifying a file. If those who tried to install it had Windows 8 or other OS in dual-boot then that's the problem... and no, it doesn't work after uninstalling that second OS either maybe only after a clean format of the whole partition
Yes of course mine have dual-boot of Windows 7 SP1 and Windows 8 Build 7989. So according what you have mentioned it is not working.....
Well funny you mention that because I also have a dual boot system but I dual boot XP Pro x64 and Win7 Pro. I used DualBootPro to setup the boot menu so maybe that might be why. Maybe even something stupid as to what partition the boot files are on can make a difference. I will try testing this in a bit. @Update: Well it was not a simple change of the boot partition but interestingly when I did Win7BootUpdate said "Invalid Boot Directory" so it checks the boot info first and maybe there is some sort of protection preventing this from running for whatever reason. A sort of self-defense of some kind. I will continue to look into this when I have time. If anyone else wants to pitch in go right ahead lol.
The tools isn't mine, only the bootscreen animation (actually that's microsoft's but I remade it using original resources provided by canouna). At least we know that the dual-boot is the problem I hope we can fix it somehow...
Definitely if you can provide me with the bootres.dll file because I didn't got to Windows 7 testing yet, I'm still on Vista Beta 2 haha
for some reason I'm getting error can't find winload.exe.dll...got any ideas??..I'm running win 7 sp1
