    Hello All,

I tried the same install wrom windows 7 but on step #7 I get this damn error message: "CannotCreate File". I run the patch as admin of course.

I tried to add a security tab and gave all possible permissions concerning the patch, but I still get this error message.

What may I have to do? thanks!

I guess you guys had done wrong the first time, after that even if you do correctly it will still give you error, because I had encountered same situation myself. I need to reformat the drive and unpack with GimageX again, then make sure you take ownership before apply patch. :D

Guess you need to do it all over again: take ownership of system32, patch the ntoskrnl.exe first, when you get the "done" pop-up, then winload.exe.

Edit, if it still fails, and you are trying to install 9471 or 9477, that would mean MS has changed the source code locations(from win8.1 preview 7431), and @Jan has to do some homework again. :p

actually, I realize that the win7 reg tweak furnished with the pack doesnt work for me. I have "take ownership" command on the right click but when I click on it the black window appears and disappears instantly so I don't have time to read what it says. So I made a printscreen and I it says that the syntax is wrong (takeown /y not allowed)

So I tried to take ownership with the command prompt by typing:
takeown /f "D:\windows\system32" (D is the blank drive where I applied install.wim). And the ownership worked well this time.

... but I still get the "cannotcreate file" message.

is takeown /f the correct syntax? I think so because I got the ownership confirmation.

I also tried to format D: once more but it didnt solved the problem.

One other thing you could do is to check if you have something like ntoskrnl.bak in system32, if it is there, the patch cannot make a bak, and would refuse to proceed with patch.

I guess this might be the culprit of yesterday's failure, the patch might not work when in a X86 to patch a X64 ntoskrnl. Try to do it in win7 X64 or win8 X64, no harm trying I guess. :p

You need to apply remove winload patch guard X86, and also apply the bcdedit command to disable integrity check. :D

i removed PAE checks, removed SSE2 and NX checks, fix hal.dll, fix halmacpi.dll, removed winload patchguard x86 checks, than rebuild ISO with UltraISO, but i'm still stuck at PAE check on boot, so the tool need an update :) (maybe i'll start IDA right now and do it by my self :p)

I think kerimcem is patching just NX, but you are also patching PAE. So his CPU works and yours doesn't. Maybe PAE patch should be renewed for W8-1, but NX patch hasn't to be...
