Greetings all On April Microsoft released Windows Embedded 8 Standard & Industry Pro none evaluation editions on MSDN. The SHA1 for Standard 8 x86 & x64 is the same as Evaluation. "en_windows_embedded_8_standard_image_builder_wizard_x86_dvd_1791542.iso" SHA1 "b12a23be2414c311cccdb481e00fb8ba34da3077" "en_windows_embedded_8_standard_image_builder_wizard_x64_dvd_1791545.iso" SHA1 "6c54418ecfbd5174c616193179eeade4b9c972c5" I Installed using MSDN key but with no Network since according to MSDN it is Static Activation "I thought no Internet connection is required" but it came with Eval & a water mark stating that evolution is expired. The Industry Pro has a different SHA1 "en_windows_embedded_8_industry_pro_x86_dvd_1966344.iso" SHA1 "54f5a13a26753bc1fee87795cef76c635a735d1f" "en_windows_embedded_8_industry_pro_x64_dvd_1966345.iso" SHA1 "ad2d538501fc9a26cc1e2b92be17e828a2ee09d0" I did the same exercise as above. After full install, a window came it is an Eval just like Standard but no water mark & when I checked "system/activation detail" it was saying "Windows isn't activated" with the possibility to activate by phone. The reason I disabled network while installing both editions is that I didn't want to risk losing one counter & I was under the impression Static Activation will not dial home Just like WES7 which shows OEM Keys are different than STatic activation since OEM Keys for WES7 doesn't dial home & doesn't require any certificates nor SLIC table. The Question is: What are the activation options for both editions MAK, KMS, OEM, Retail ... etc Is it possible to get the gvlk if they can be activated by KMS. Notice Microsoft never released the gvlk for POSReady7 I got it through MTK thanks to CODY & I got the OEM keys for WES7 from MDL. I don't know if what I did has any value but I will appreciate any feedback Thanks for everybody
