I know everyone will have their opinion but I'm treating this Win 8 Enteprise-N as a test OS... and to me changing wallpaper or theme color is not a testing... in other words all these "locked" things(because of no proper activation) are not a big deal. Now on the other hand, device drivers, major programs like Office, Photoshop, Games, & stuff are the things I would like to make sure will run just fine under a new OS. And since this one is "N" version, you'll have to rely on media player like VLC.
Exactly the same way I did it with the RP, copied explorer.exe from 7s windows folder, explorer.exe.mui from 7s windows\en-US folder, put them in the patch folder with explorer.exe.mui in a separate folder called en-US and ran the patch in 8 RTM, chose 7 and pressed yes to everything else
ok i just want to try installing music form app store to play files, but still not working. Also app cannot read mp3 tag's from files, I'm install codec. Maybe if we can copy WMP form CP x64 to this version and register to system would help?
Mediaplayer support will come, but MS is still working on getting links etc. up for the final release. Still 11 days till its officially so of ofcourse not everything is up yet, not even kms servers are up to activate windows 8 in cause you got a legit serial. It will be possible to install media player on this version just be patient till it gets up by microsoft. In the mean time use a media player with build codecs like vlc or foobar2000 to play music files etc. Calm down people of course not everything it up yet when its not even released officially yet.
I wonder if these "original Microsoft images" will in fact have the same hash as the MSDN versions due on 15th ?, no way of knowing so will just wait this one out.
Yeah i'm basically asking if we can upgrade Windows 7 Pro to Windows 8 Pro and later convert it to Non-Volume? (or simply a fresh install with the same outcome?) Basically wouldn't i just have to remove the key?
Windows 7 Pro(and presumably Windows 8) came in few versions... like Retail, Volume & OEM. Now Windows 7 Enterprise I think don't come in a Retail version.
My BSOD was caused by Firefox 15.0b3+Flash 11.3.300.270....uninstalled them and sistem works just fine now!
Windows 8 Pro will come in Retail & Volume Yeah seems to be as I just tried bringing that Windows To Go help text up whilst offline, couldn't display it. MS will likely update it in the future.
