I installed 9200 earlier: - Changing background is possible via Desktop > Personalize, but is not possible from W8UI Control Panel - I used Windows for about 5 hours, and I recently just noticed an "Activate Windows, Go to PC settings to activate Windows." Watermark - Upon reboot, that watermark seemed to of disappeared
Does anyone know where the 'customization' files are? I'm wondering if they can be ripped out and used in a release preview install of Win 8!
I just tried the RTM and had a few problems with it. Mail App doesn't work anymore with my Hotmail account (blank screen after i add it and i can't delete it anymore). Messenger App doesn't connect to Facebook, no matter how often i try to add it. No Facebook infos/friends in contacts. Those worked perfectly in RP. Appart from that, customisation (metro lock screen, desktop theme) seems to work fine even without activation, it is automatically carried from RP via sync.
1. Yeah this faint watermark with a key icon appears every 3 hours. Restart explorer.exe to get rid of it. 2. I don't think you can. 3. Not without a custom theme. 4. Nope?
Windows Indexing Score doesn't work for me as it's the N version and there are no media samples for to test.
Ran Windows Indexing score on my Dell Inspiron laptop with the Windows 8 Ent. Non-N version. It got as far as the DirectX 10 texture and crashed. :\
I also use non-N version on a Dell Inspiron 1545 and I was able to run it successfully until the end. Perhaps a video driver issue. Edit: oops! wrong thread
I have come across some serious downloading issues with Enterprise N and Non-N on two separate machines. PC and laptop. Downloads speeds are always ~20 KB/sec, regardless of what browser i use. It also seems as windows itself is limited at that speed as my updates are taking forever to complete.. Problematic NIC's: Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller Intel WiFi Link 5100 AGN Anyone else experiencing this? Should also state that my Router is flashed with TomatoRAF and i never experienced this issues with the Release Preview. LAN/Network speeds are fine though. EDIT: Issue was Router side. QOS settings clashing. Fixed.
Working almost all my needs, photoshop, winamp, ati drivers, samsung printer, opera browser, ecc... The only one not work is panel of xonar dg audio drivers, hope asus release soon a version fully compatible with win8.
