So what exactly IS Windows 8.1 (Blue) ?

Is it like a service pack, or is it something you need to pay for?

Until it is officially released, its hard to tell what MS has planned, things change at Redmond more than most change their underoos. Right now it is a PRE-Beta partner release not intended for general public. Basically at this point I would call it a service pack (personally), but like I said, that will be determined soon.

Know what? I'm going to update this peace of art in weekend. And I'm not talking about just simple update. Huge update concentrated on Windows 8.1 (aka "Blue"). :matrix:

    I have a question.

What is difference between these ISOs ?

    1. Windows_8_Pro_EN-US_x64.ISO SHA-1: E63C1D3733532ABC7AB28F3D61526E361E80271A
    2. en_windows_8_pro_vl_x64_dvd_917699 SHA-1 : 6DDEDEBE40AB59CB11823F62F475C43C4053FE60

I think first one is WZT and other one is 'I dont know'

First I installed Windows 8 Pro with first ISO. Thats WZT :D
I activated it via KMS and added WMC feature key. And It got Activated.
    I have that activation backup.

Now I lost all my data in HDD due to my stupid little brother and messed with my OS.
I have searched to download WZT iso but unable to find. ( I hate torrents )

    I have downloaded 2nd ISO.
I want to know if I installed Windows 8 with 2nd ISO then can I activate it with my store folder?

Is there difference in performance ?

Second ISO is VL (Volume License) version, so WMC can“t be installed on that version.

Will my activation backup of WZT will work in that?
And final ISO name looks like just Windows 8, it doesnt look like Win 8 Pro.
    Is it Pro?

    1. Yap.
    2. It contains both Core and Pro. The key decides the edition.

    The UpDown8 1.5 won't work!
This is what I did: Opened program, clicked enterprise and pressed save. I then inserted my USB stick with enterprise in it. I clicked skip updated and continue. Then I clicked upgrade but It said 'Cannot upgrade from enterprise eval' and a lot of other stuff. Why?! I am using Enterprise Evaluation Build 9200!:(:confused:o_O

    Thanks for the feedback.

Actual credit goes to abdovar who brought the concept of using Smartversion (instead of xdelta).

I have a question about Windows 8 Pro... If I activate via phone (skype) will the activation be permanent ? IE no need to re activate after 180 days ??

MAK, Retail or OEM key = Permanent activation. Only KMS uses 180 day limit.

Note that non-legal keys might be deactivated by MS in the future.
