Thanks HumansCan'tBeTrusted for creating this comprehensive FAQ. I have one silly question though. If I install Windows 8 with the serials available (which would not pass activation), how long can I use it without activation?
Can i upgrade Windows 8 Pro to Windows 8 Enterprise Evaluation, because Enterprise is 90days trial, and for Pro there is till no activation, and also i don't have empty dvd disc to install fresh copy?...
i guess it is not like that. i've installed windows 8 (with a pro key) and it was in notification mode so afaik it would work even after 30 days or whatever but every 3 hours it shows a pop up activation. tried to rearm it, it was the same.
Is there anyway to check if Execute Disabled Bit is already active on my system? My HP g6-1279SL doesn't have a BIOS option to activate EDB, i wanna check if it is already active.
Can't download the whole iso with my current connection (i'm away from home). Any way to call the funcion enabled by EDB on W7 (any programs that uses EDB on 7 or a system call i can test from cmd/c# app)?
now i am running win8 enterprise and its already activated a couple of days ago. so now iam going to upgred to win8 pro. do i have to make a clean install or do you have another way? thanks in advance.
Wow so much for activation of win 8?? MS is giving hard time for crackers I guess. Still, it is an awesome FAQ for the newbies like me. Thank you HumansCan'tBeTrusted
What are the differences between Windows 8 (x64) - DVD (English) (en_windows_8_x64_dvd_915440.iso, 1CE53AD5F60419CF04A715CF3233F247E48BEEC4), and Windows 8 Pro VL (x64) - DVD (English) (en_windows_8_pro_vl_x64_dvd_917699.iso, 6DDEDEBE40AB59CB11823F62F475C43C4053FE60)? Especially in terms of activation? Thank you for your information.
