    hi guys ... i have a qn ..... i am using a RTM version for windows 8 (core i think since its not enterprise nor pro) ... i would like to ask (as i am utterly confused) has there been a recognized way to activate it easily?

    I have question on my thread. :D

    I'm curently running x86 Windows 8 Pro version but I want to try x64. So question is: will it be usable with 2 gb of RAM?

    Yes, it will be fine unless you want to run RAM heavy programs like Video editing etc

    I run x64 on my 2GB laptop and its nice and quick

    My Question, has anyone managed to change the Start Screen background colour to any other colours than are already there ? Custom Colours ?

    I was thinking about that. These default backrounds must be saved somewhere.

    They all just feel too bright and luminous, I prefer something a little less blinding

    Yea, it's hard to understand maybe. I mean that only license text on installer is different from final version.

    Suppose I install the RTM today and I get a legit upgrade key when Retail comes out. Will I be able to use my upgrade key in RTM and activate without having to reinstall Windows?

    Upgrade means you need previous genuine systems (7/Vista/XP) installed

    Hi All,

    A couple of questions are still bothering me a bit:

    1. I know the difference between Core/Pro/Enterprise in terms of features, but how about for activation. Theoretically, I'd like to use Pro. Can I use a KMS server (if one is online) to activate it?

    2. If not, what versions of Windows 8 can use KMS activation?

    All Volume-Channel can be activated through KMS server, Pro version can be both Retail or Volume, Enterprise is volume by default
    so for short, you can

    Thanks for the heads-up. So the Core also comes in retail/volume channels?

    So the SHA-1 hash:

    6DDEDEBE40AB59CB11823F62F475C43C4053FE60

    which is Windows 8 Pro VL (x64) - DVD (English), en_windows_8_pro_vl_x64_dvd_917699.iso

    is the one I should be looking for correct?

    The 1st one is ISO from MSDN, just choose this one, the 2nd is ISO from leaked, no different though
