Only Pro though. According to MSDN also Enterprise should be available for DreamSpark Premium. Anyway, lets add some new keys to my huge excel sheet with genuine keys
Say, if I want to change notebook, then I just enter the key to new notebook, then call MS to confirm hardware change, and asked to deactive old notebook, that's all ?
I already activated my current notebook, and want to active to the other notebook of course it's not allowed, then the older one must be deactivated, right? sorry for wrong thread
If talking about windows 7, you can use the SLP license on the notebook that comes preinstalled with windows. Then you could use the key on the bottom for the other one yes. It's not legal but it works.
Oh sorry, you are in the right thread! Don't you have 1 key for x86 and another one for x64? The keys are interchangeable between architectures, so you have 2 licenses and can activate on 2 pcs. And if it goes the same as with windows 7 then you'll get 2 new keys when SP1 comes out, but the question is if you still have access to dreamspark then.
I still have another 2 years on university just in case if i wanted to install the x86 in new machine, my current machine is x86
I spoke too early, It says my Dreamspark Premium account has expired and I guess I have to wait for October.
Hell yeah Anybody knows how many computers can be activated with one key? So far i've used the same key on my desktop and laptop computers and they've activated correctly.
Huh you get localized editions? I only get english ones while I live in flanders (dutch), as is my college.
For how long is the windows activated with this key? Does it have a time-period? Or it's going to work for as long as I like?
Permanent. Just check it by : slmgr /xpr on CMD When your subscription ends, no updates anymore but still can use it. [From Dreamspark EULA]
Yep, i dont really know how but desktop and laptop both are working with the same key and activated XD
