This Connect website is here to provide you with the resources you will need to submit feedback for the Windows 8 Consumer Preview.
 
It contains tools and information you will need to submit feedback to Microsoft.
 
Download for the Windows Send Feedback Tool
 
This tool may be installed (installation is per user, not per machine) and used to send feedback to Microsoft. The Connect site will only allow you to provide “private” feedback to Microsoft, so normal Connect community features like voting and comments are not enabled. You should visit the forums (listed below) to connect with others in the Windows 8 Consumer Preview community.

Yes, 100%. And they also have Windows Phone 8 coming with the 8, so the 8 makes sense.

Im pretty sure they will release the links once the press conference is over, lets hope not.

if it is like dev preview release, the twitter account @buildwindows8 will post the download links. For Dev Preview, the links came earlier than the stated time of quoted release time.

"FRE" are the "Free" builds, which have been compiled without debugging code.
"CHK| - checked builds.
