WDP might be locked but Public Beta will never be locked. Only some features which are not ready yet will be locked.

 

Windows is usually feature complete by the beta stage so all the features will be unlocked. AFAIK they are not releasing the beta at BUILD...

 

Yep, this will be a Developer Preview. MS already said that features like Media Center, .NET3.5.. etc won't be in the first public build. I hope that means that MCE is getting a Metro Style overhaul as well.

 

Yes, I think Beta will be released next month.

 

I think CES in January will be the release for the beta. Windows 7 was exactly the same. WDP in September/October then Beta in December/January

But this DP is not 199 builds below beta that is probably a build between 8100-8150 and in January they should be already in some build like 8250 (Beta 2 or RC)

MS usually fork builds that are released into the public so it's not going to be a very very new build imo. Besides they need to wait for feedback from the WDP as well to contribute to the beta.

 

Yeah i bet on november beta too... I don't have infos about that

 

once pre-beta release/leaks then regular build leak will happen..Pre-beta-) Beta1-Beta2-Escrow-RTM

 

I hope Microsoft will release a developer preview in the BUILD and it leaks!!!!!!!!

i think the same way,, im sure microsoft and all there employees are watching all the forums

 

BTW on the Internet I saw many details about that 8064 so I think that build will be leaked....
And,of course....what is the best metod for M$ to correct the buggs in their O.S ?

 

haha so true,, so much for microsoft being tight on there leaks,, fair enough there has only been 5, but its still enough for ms to get enough info for bugs lol

I don't know. Many sites reported, that this build already leaked. But I think they meant a "private leak" as build 7971 had been leaked privately.
