Anyone know what version of IE10 is in the developer preview? The reason I ask is because my IE10 looks like IE9, & when I look in the About window, it says it is version 9.0.8112: I did a clean install of this developer's preview on my laptop.
A real easy way to do a restart is to " go to desktop and right click mouse, select New, select Shortcut. Type or paste without quotes "shutdown.exe -r -t 00" . Select next and name it Restart. Then go to shortcut on desktop and right click then properties, select change Icon and pick a Icon from the Icon list. There you go, a quick restart from the desktop. enjoy YF
I don't even see that tile anymore. I remember seeing it yesterday when I first installed the preview. I think I'm just gonna do another clean install. Does this mean booting from the flash drive? I didn't do that yesterday when I installed.
Yes, I played with the preview for a couple of hours but became frustrated with trying to navigate to where I wanted to go. Even to shut down is a hassle. As said previously, it may be good for the tablet and toy people, but that doesn't incude me. Perhaps I am getting to old for this stuff. Metro? I thought it was an underground railway system. Perhaps that is where it should go. IMO it is a step backwards from W7.
This also happened to me. After trying lots of things, i found out IE needs to be the default browser or else immersive IE won't work/exist. That's a little odd, i hope it gets fixed on some update.
In connection with the official release test version windows 8, and updates come from WU, I have a question-sentence: lay out updates for and for him it is not always and not everyone is able to run the WU in the absence of Internet, if possible.
I've another hint: There must be anywhere an Option to disable the startscreen at logon, because the Server also goes directly to the Desktop.
Can somebody help me , i can not adjust the brigthness of my laptop , i have done a clean install of WDP and i like it , but the only thing y cant do is that . Sorry for the bad english
Hover to the lower left corner and click on "Settings" There should be an option to adjust brightness at the bottom of the window that slides out from the right.
When i tried to install it told me it has compatibility ... issues. I tried to install in compatib mode, i stopped the program compatibility assistent... but all in vain... So, how did u installed it?
Do you like the Windows 8 Side by Side view? (3/4 for one app 1/4 for another app.) I like it but not for every app it is usefull, because than you cannot read things, if they are not optimized for the Side by Side view. I wish we could configure the Side by Side view like we want. e.g. i want that one app uses 60% and another 40% for example, without a set option. the muose or the figure define that.
As Developer you have to create this Snap view, would microsoft allow even more Random % it would make it really frustrating designing a App that can do that. I see no need for custom Size, the Dev has to make hes App for this Snap view himself (so it depends on the dev how useful the snap view is), windows doesnt automaticly create one for the app.
