Do you think there will be a smiliar Daz Loader (as there is with windows 7) with Windows 8? I know it's still early day's. The Win 8 repository is extremely helpful.

I'm having some issues with my Nvidia GeForce 7000M/nForce 610M graphics driver on my laptop. I have the latest one from the Nvidia site. I was wondering if there's anywhere else I can find a later version or a beta version of the driver for this graphics card? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

don't expect all the apps to work perfectly at this early stage. If it works, ok. If not, so be it. Let's just wait for the Beta release which is more stable.

I'm just lucky coz' all my apps are working at this point in time since I installed WDP last 9/15/2011. I still hope and pray that it will remain as is until I get the Beta... :hug2:

Sadly, the only version i could find was 179.48 which was released in Feb 2009, and it was a beta build. And i searched the rest of the site, and couldn't find anything, so it looks like Nvidia no longer supports your graphics card, the minimum they support at the moment is the 8 series for both desktop and laptop.o_O

The only thing i can suggest is that, you should check the company's website that made your laptop, and see if they have an updated display driver.

Sounds like I just made the cutoff with my 8400GS. I chose that card for my bedroom HTPC cause it's the lowest rated NV GPU that still supports CUDA. I installed WDP on there cause it uses less resources than Win 7, works like a charm with KMPlayer.

Yeah, WDP is faster, but i hate the Metro UI, i use both a Desktop and Laptop, and Metro serves no purpose for me
(except to annoy me), everything else i like the ribbon, task manager, mounting both vhd and iso's, just hope that some of those features get backported to Win7 when SP2 comes out.

Thanks for your help. I originally got this laptop in 2007 with Windows Vista, so the Compaq website no longer supports this laptop.

Hi, which Laptop (type) do you own and which Info's / drivers do you need?

And, a little bit :offtopic: for all Compaq-Notebook-Collectors: The Compaq nc6710(b?) support up to 8GB RAM and has a resolution up to 1680*1050

    Greetings from Germany

I have a Compaq Presario F750 laptop, with a Nvidia GeForce 7000M/nForce 610M graphics card. I was looking for a more recent version of the driver than the 2009 one that is posted on the nvidia site.

Actually, this didn't work for me and that's why I decided to change it manually.

So for anyone else having that issue, that's the fix.

Sounds like its going to sleep rather than shutting down completely?

    Check in power options.

I've searched and found a HP list of supported laptops that HP would support if you upgraded to Win7. Sadly, your model is not listed, and HP has no plans to release any Win7 drivers for unsupported models, they recommend you stick with either XP or Vista.o_O

Edit - Nvidia are supporting 6 series GPU's for desktops, just checked in the lastest beta v285.38
