yes I know, but "Compiled"->"Beta" inside still candidate build 8234? I think that is the final build, now raise just a number and it will be gold-beta based on the 8234 build
2 days the last days before the official information, and soon images should be available to MSDN / TechNet.
I gotta tell ya, I won't be renewing my TechNet sub this year. Seem irrelivant these days. no Beta releases and all.
Easy with that kind of talk, said the same albeit with more colorful language and got flamed on. You must accept Sinofsky and his locked down dev as the greatest reason for Win7's success or risk being considered an MS hater.
Guys, I have a question... Since MS metrofied the logo for Windows, so does it mean that the next Windows release will be based entirely on Metro? Consider these two points: [1] They cannot change the Windows logo again for the next release. No way! [2] In Windows 8 they're giving us Aero + Metro, they just cannot let it happen again in Windows '9'! Also, Windows 8 will be the 3rd Windows to feature Aero - I just don't see what else/more they can do with Aero! I personally dislike Metro. Its not that I hate it. Metro is clean and there's a feeling of BIG CLEAN TEXTS associated with it. Metro is absolutely superb for mobile phones and for tablets. But for desktops and laptops, well, we need more content, more graphical UI. Isn't it depressing that in the age of such powerful CPUs and GPUs, we are still not getting a completely 3D user interface for our OSs that does justice to the hardware? Metro for the desktop is bulls**t! 2D tiles, fullscreen everything - seriously, as a die hard Windows fan who has been using Windows ever since Windows 3.1, I almost feel like crying! I feel like let down! I love the Aero part of Windows 8 however. The square edges, the Aerolite & the Aerolite glass theme, the centered titles, the little icons on the top left... My request to MS would be: If you can't make a new 3D UI, just give us a Windows with the Aero from Windows 8 and the explorer ribbon from Office 2010! That's it!
If Windows 9 is fully metro, I'll buy a damn Mac lol. I need to be able to be productive and multitask PROPERLY. Not this side by side metro crap.
Amen. Others can call it traditionalist, fanboi Win7 nostalgia but Metro is inefficient on a desktop and something I avoid while in Win8. My vote would've been making Metro an installable version in itself(like Home or Ultimate) for OEMs and users. Either that or a separate OS, maybe a stripped Win8 like Windows Thin PC that's Metrofied for tablets and the basis for phones(a la iOS).
I wouldn't say they metrofied anything... Remember? Old logo was a Window transformed into a wave, whats the new Logo? A Window with a perspective view, it only lost the colors.
For the games that are included with the Consumer Preview... I have some of them on Windows Phone. Anyone know if they sync?
