    Microsoft has released an update for Win8 DP


    An update that postpones the expiration date of Windows 8 Developer Preview and of Windows 8 Server Developer Preview is available

    Important To continue using Windows 8 Developer Preview or Windows 8 Server Developer Preview, you must install this update before the expiration date. After the activation license expires, Windows 8 Developer Preview and Windows 8 Server Developer Preview will periodically restart. After you install this update, Windows automatically tries to reactivate after the restart until activation is successful    .

    We still can find dialog boxes and icons from Windows 3.1 and Windows 95 in Windows 7 and even Windows 8.

    So, don't expect anything to go away this fast ;)

    I did not install this update, and I will not install it at all.

    3 weeks left for my WDP to expire.

    9 days left for us to get WCP.

    He will get WCP.

    Why install the update extending the expire date of WDP which is over 3 weeks when you go install WCP over 9 days? :)

    I believe the consumer preveiw will lack Development features the WDP currently has.
    :sly:

    IEthis question in MSDN: "Does any one knows how to import metro apps created under Developer Preview build to Consumer Preview? Is there any documentation availble that can help provide some guidance"

    MSFT answer was the typical, NDA slap down to this individual's question.

    As far as I know, the DP had only VS11 + the new Windows SDK. VS11 Beta will be released in the next few weeks so I think that developers will be able to use CP without loosing any functionality.

    @canouna: Does this look like the new Media Center in Windows8? Or does W8 look better/not as well as this?
