Pentium 3 -> it will probably crash like my Athlon XP (no SSE2 instructions) Pentium 4 -> it should be OK
i got an old PC too, i will install windows 8 beta on it, But that will only support windows xp sp2 programs.Windows 8 beta got windows xp sp2 compatibility mode for applications???, anyone can confirm? canouna please show some screenshots that will make me happy
Windows 7 had compatibility setting up to and including Windows 95. Windows 8 DP had also a profile for Windows 7. I don't see any reason why they would remove it in Beta build.
windows 8 beta can support low resolution 1024*768 , 1280*768 ..... or minimum resolution will be more than this It would be great if someone could post minimum requirements to run windows 8 beta, like disk space, processor, RAM, almost all hardware requirements
Apparently if you want to use all of Windows 8's features a resolution of 1366x768 is needed. 1024×768 is the minimum resolution for Metro applications to work. Lower than 1024×768 should still work, but only support running desktop (non-Metro) applications. Other requirements should be the same as W7.
Metro applications will work, but you won't be able to run 2 side-by-side with one in the "snap" mode.
I thought I heard W8 required a higher version of ACPI and Hardware Virtualization or something, but I could be wrong
Those are the official requirements, but I mean the actual minimum requirements. I might be able to run W8 on my 7 year old PC now (756 MB RAM, 1.66 GHz Pentium)
