I guess a normal install will always be faster than running in virtual machine.



How much memory did you give WDP to play with? I just gave it the minimum required 1GB.

Gave it 2 cores, and created a preallocated single file virtual disk for it.

Don't know what else I can do to make it faster. I'll give the W8-CP more RAM to use though, that's all I can do.

Does anyone know whether CP is going to include UEFI-boot, If it is included, can it be disabled?

 

WDP includes UEFI Bootloader too, If your machine is UEFI ready, and the hard disk is partitioned as GPT, Windows Installation Manager, writes the UEFI Booloader inside the x:\EFI\ folder, if you have a BIOS Machine and the hard disk is a MBR disk, Windows Installation Manager is going to write the classic bootloader inside the x:\boot\ folder

 

after the release of the beta, it will be upgrade able?
if i running now WDP, could i update\upgrade it to win8 beta?

 

We know that consumer preview is supposed to be launch at feb.29.....BTW....Also, who remembers the rumors that a Windows 8 build would leak after CES 2011? That the Windows 8 Beta would be 8175? That the Windows 8 Beta would be released sometime mid-February? Which one of those rumors came true? Answer: None of them, were true.

 

The 29-02 date is confirmed by Microsoft (3PM CET). MS said from the beginning that the CP would be released at the end of February

 

Would you guys mind stop using the report post function for vanities? Telling each other to go to hell, doubting screenshots and the like won't help anything. Why can't people just share their things peacefully? No one has to prove anything.

And using the report post function to request for whatever build or download link won't help. Information is provided in this thread...

Actually I could get WCP since last week. But I did not want to download it because that build will be older than the Public release on 29th.
So I will have to download it again on 29th, and my download speed is very slow. So I did not want to get WCP now. I will wait for the public release on 29th.

If WCP is leaked now, I will not download it.

 

Can I have it then? </joke>
