For some reason I'm unable to connect to my network drives I get the error message of:- 'You do not have permission to access \\Desktop\e Contact your Network Administrator to request access' (I have Windows 8 RTM installed on my laptop and Windows 7 installed on my desktop) I had no problems accessing my network drives on Windows 8 CP Any ideas??
If you right click your network (or wifi) icon in the system tray (near clock) and pick "Open Network And Sharing Center", in there pick "Change advanced share settings" (on the top/mid left of the window). In the bottom of the "Private (current profile)" section change to "Use user accounts and passwords to connect to other computers", then log out and back in to your PC. Now when you try to connect to another PC with shares, if it requires a different login you can type it in to gain access, without the correct login details you can't connect. Most people who use Windows 7 & now 8, use HomeGroup to share things, you access these from the context menu under "Share With..." -EDIT- If you meant you can not access win 8 from the win 7 PC then you may need to check other settings in the "Network And Sharing Center" on the Windows 8 PC. -EDIT- Sharing whole drives is more tricky, it is actually disabled in the group policies to allow this and un-like in Vista and XP you are not asked if you just want to enable it anyway. Google answered that question for me about 3 years ago before all my PC were Win 7+ OS's and I switched to DLNA/HomeGroups. -EDIT- Other tips include, you must have an account password to access full drive shares, you may need to go into Advanced sharing and add users to the list of read and/or write permissions. I ended up not sharing the whole drives once I figured all this out, was easier to just share folders
Thanks so much - I changed the option in Network & Sharing centre to 'Use user accounts and passwords to connect to other computers' and this has resolved the issue. Thanks again
From winunleaked forum: << Just found a way to change the color of metro without activation Run regedit, [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\Accent] ColorSet Change value to 0,1, 2, 3 … to use another color set. Logout will be needed to take effect >>
u cant, as there is nothing solution, w8 for some days, solution will be available, till then u have 1000 rearm
Thanks buddy You have made the process more easier and reliable. Link is resumable and works perfectly with IDM
How often do we have to rearm to be sure that Windows will work? Is it 30 days as in Windows 7, or less?
Actually it can be done: get a VLSC keylaie Update from WZOR: No plan to leak other editions: Google translate
I changed my BIOS date 4 months ahead just to see what happens, turns out nothing, no nags, nothing, dunno if thats a true way to test never tried doing that before but anyway I still have 1000 rearms, gonna use this for a while, imaged the install as well just in case something messes up whilst I test it
Someone let wzor know we need a x86 version so we can make a Windows Go that will work on all devices You can install x64 OS's from x86 WinPE's too and it would be great to make a start on a WinBuilder preset too (wanting x86 for more compatible Hardware support).
Yep, made sure I did that, only thing that went crazy was Defender saying it had out of date definitions (not surprising since they were 4 months old from the future date), took a restart to turn it green again.
Yes, all it does is make you enter a key before going onto the setup & the only key that will work is the one for Enterprise-N from the product.ini
thanks, does it make a difference in the end? any difference with expiration or rearm counts btw whats up with the thousand rearms? did they rush the release that they didn't notice this bug? oh and the disgusting blue install screen doesn't really look like RTM looks like they deleted some bitmap resources and changed the background color to the old windows setup blue: ready!!!
