Just for curiosity, Did somebody try to use ZWT KMS keygen (or later modded versions) to activate WIN 8 Enterprise? Tnx!
It's an N SKU - therefore, the Media Pack isn't included, and actually won't install. (That is also why upgrades aren't doable, as you can't upgrade from a non-N SKU to an N SKU.) Networking is flawless - for VMs (both VMware and Oracle Virtusl Box) use the Intel Ethernet NIC option. My bare-metal install, like my 8 RP bare-metal install that i dual-boots with, works just fine - if anything, the lack of Aero makes it a bit quicker.
why don't you just call it french version? there is no multilanguage windows unless language packs count but for language packs to work you probably need the english windows
hi. I have installed the RTM version, and the windows store (your apps - apps installed) shows all applications that i installed earlier on release preview. Why is it shows not installed apps in "installed apps" menu? This is a windows store bug? How can i remove all these datas from my account?
thx... i just try it and with windows vista files it work but when i try with windows 7 files it dosent...
installed it in vmware. Im going to buy it at 40$, but im guessing for my country it would be something like 65$. Would the language packs be available at release?
So I just tried to transplant Windows 8 RP visual styles to rtm and it worked but no transparency also I noticed a bug I guess where the bar with the back and forward buttons turns blue and stays blue until i reboot it happens when i change themes in the personalization control panel also happened before i ported the rp theme
I just tried to make a cap of the blue bar bug when I got some kind of buggy transparency. Oh and also the blue bar bug. Is there sth wrong or is it just me?
I imagine not setting a user password would get rid of the password prompt. Edit: Oh, you're probably using an MS account. No idea.
If you use liveID as login, goto metro control panel and set use local account(no password) as login.
Yep,switch to local account with no password, but you can still install metro apps, hey ,you guys see the new Outlook mail? Awesome crap,I say
I believe Microsoft tried to remove all the transparency and alpha blending stuff, so the interface basically looks like Windows 7 basic mode. Of course this makes Windows 8 look crapper, but they did it for tablet considerations. It's another very stupid downside from them trying the 'one size fits all' solution, especially since that 'one size' is actually touch screen tablets, with the desktop/laptop market missing out. The GUI should look attractive and functional, not just look and work crap.
Hi, Sorry you are having problem with this. I had to reinstall windows (I fully killed it playing with the registry trying to fix the transparency)... first thing I did on my new installation is follow my own instructions to get the gadgets from windows 7 working, they worked ok... here are the step-by-step I did to make it work again an a clean install: Steps on how to add Sidebar from windows 7 to Windows 8 (x64). ================================================================ Copy the Vista gadgets folder to c:\Program Files\Windows Sidebar\ (this is the normal folder) - Make usre its showing, most likelly is hidden so go to folder options and unhide files. Copy the Windows 7 gadgets folder to c:\program files\windows Sidebar-new\ (just a made up folder) Open a DOS window and run it as administrator: Move to: C:\Program Files\Windows Sidebar\ Run: regsvr32 sbdrop.dll regsvr32 wlsrvc.dll Copy the following lines to notepad and save it as "sidebar.reg" and run it by double clicking on it, this will add the entries to the Registry, I added all re reg files in one: Code: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Sidebar] [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Sidebar\Compatibility] [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] "Sidebar"="\"C:\\Program Files\\Windows Sidebar\\sidebar.exe\"" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\DesktopBackground\Shell\Gadgets] "MUIVerb"=hex(2):40,00,25,00,50,00,72,00,6f,00,67,00,72,00,61,00,6d,00,46,00,\ 69,00,6c,00,65,00,73,00,25,00,5c,00,57,00,69,00,6e,00,64,00,6f,00,77,00,73,\ 00,20,00,53,00,69,00,64,00,65,00,62,00,61,00,72,00,5c,00,73,00,69,00,64,00,\ 65,00,62,00,61,00,72,00,2e,00,65,00,78,00,65,00,2c,00,2d,00,31,00,31,00,31,\ 00,30,00,30,00,00,00 "Position"="Bottom" "Icon"="C:\\Program Files\\Windows Sidebar\\sidebar.exe,-100" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\DesktopBackground\Shell\Gadgets\command] @="C:\\Program Files\\Windows Sidebar\\sidebar.exe /showGadgets" Run c:\Program Files\Windows Sidebar\sidebar.exe Make sure its working, Close the sidebar. Exit Sidebar by right clicking on the Sidebar icon next to the clock and select 'exit' Make sure Sidebar.exe is not running under Task Manager. Rename Windows Vista files folder to something else, like this: e.g Rename (Windows Vista folder files) from "c:\Program FIles\Windows Sidebar\" to "c:\Program FIles\Windows Sidebar-old\" Rename (Windows 7 folder files ) from "c:\program files\windows Sidebar-new\" to "c:\program files\windows Sidebar\" NOTE: if you have problems with the 'Weather' icon not giving information, use the file "wlsrvc.dll" from the Vista files in the Win7 files sidear folder. run c:\program files\windows Sidebar\sidebar.exe The Windows 7 sidebar should be up!! Reboot just to make sue it will restart upon rebooting the PC. NOTE: If you dont want to start sidebar on startup then Run it manually: from c:\program files\windows Sidebar\sidebar.exe This should work, it did for me just fine. Cheers!
