Actually the Windows 8 Setup can see my HDD. I simply deleted all the Mac and Windows 7 partitions during setup and converted the HDD to GPT using diskpart. The installation went ahead but right after hitting 100% the error came up. Again, this only happens when you install using EFI. Works perfect using BIOS.
Is anybody else having the issue where when you try to play music with the music metro app, it plays for less than a second then closes?
I've just encountered someone on another site with a similar problem. Could you give me any more info on it?
When trying to play a song from my hard drive, the app opens then plays for about a second then crashes back to the start. this also happens if you play like a sample from the store thing. however the music plays fine with wmp. im on enterprise 64 and have run cleanwater :/ Thanks for any help
Here's what the other person said, you'll have to decipher his incredible English. I think he said when he installed Ent-N he managed to get the music app working, and then his apps didn't work. Then when he re-installed (presumably with non-N?) the Music app opens but crashes when he plays a song. Is that similar to your problem? I'll try it out myself in a VM right now. Which version of Windows 8 are you using? I have all 3 set-up as VM's.
haha, very hard to read lol yes thats what's happening. this is the version i am using MICROSOFT.WINDOWS.8.ENTERPRISE.RTM.X64.VOLUME.ENGLISH.DVD-WZT thanks
I am running the same thing, I have ran Clean Water too, no problems previewing songs or playing them off my HDD with the Metro Music app. I haven't got any problems to report actually, guess I am just lucky
Same here - I ran Clean Water and have had no issues with the Metro Music app - (MICROSOFT.WINDOWS.8.ENTERPRISE.RTM.X64.VOLUME.ENGL ISH.DVD-WZT installed)
Once Windows 8 RTM is installed through BIOS, how can I reboot it on EFI after install on a MacBook Pro?
I think no Macs to date are UEFI 2.0 compliant. Even Windows 7 requires UEFI 2.0 if booting via EFI. You still have to bear with BIOS emulation unfortunately.
There are a few excellent threads on forums.macrumors.com with help getting the Mac to install and boot thru EFI. Alot of them were successful on the new MacBooks with Windows 7 and hacked drivers. Probably your best bet. I've been running MacOS and Windows 7 on my Dell Inspiron since 10.6 came out (on 10.7 now). I dread reinstalling everything now that I want to dual boot Win8 on that notebook.
On my hp g7 1310us laptop the pro version of windowows 8 rtm 64 bit is letting me upgrade my copy of windows 7. I dont have to format to install it or have it just save my personal files. It asked me if I wanted to save my apps and personal files and I said yes to it.
