just to tell everybody after a bunch of some hundreds of MBs: still ACTIVE edit: perhaps only illusion but I find a real increase of performance after these updates on some machines. Maybe only me but here it shows ...
Microsoft stuffed up the manual download links for update KB2761465 (x64 version only). The links refer to the release preview update, NOT the RTM update for the RTM update versions! (linked file for x64 is Windows8-RT-KB2761465-x64-RP.msu).
It is now 'standard practice' for Microsoft to release most hotfixes in bulk within a few days of 'patch Tuesday'. To date, this is mostly for Windows 7 updates, but it's reasonable to assume they will do the same with Windows 8. These couple of updates are evidence of this. There may be less bulk updates for Windows 8, not because it has less bugs, but due to the way Microsoft wants to release Windows versions in the future (smaller upgrade steps more frequently). The next 'upgrade step' is supposedly due mid next year, codenamed 'Windows Blue'. This is probably effectively a major service pack, but supposedly could be considered as 'Windows 8.1'.
Hello McRip, I think there is a mistake in your Update-changelog.txt (WIN8) date 12.12.2012. Once you say KB2779030 is added on 12.12.2012, once you say KB2779030 is removed on 12.12.2012! Wath's korrekt ??
