Same here, neither the Windows 8 or Hotfix repository logs changelogs. It takes a long time to connect and then fails, it isn't an instant failure. It isn't a DNS issue either, as I tried flushing the local DNS resolver cache (ipconfig /flushdns) and using a couple of different DNS servers like my standard ISP DNS, and Google DNS etc just out of curiosity. Also I haven't quite finished the updated installer regarding using the express updates. I almost finished it, but left it and need to trace down an issue. I guess no rush now since people can't change over to the new system!
You're right- I can't log in using the IP address. The last thing he mentioned he was working on was the DNS servers though. I sent him a message, but I actually hope he ignores it and just continues to relax and enjoy his vacation. He'll return in a week and a half. Yeah, no rush on the updated installer- especially now with the repo being unavailable.
Komm with the latest KUC I am unable to download KB2409615. Also there is typo error for update KB2853772 in the KUC state remark, it's written KB2853722 instead of KB2853772. Thank you in advance.
what happened to a place where you could download individual .msu updates? the repo that I visited the other day has empty folders and a few updates for windows features. but no actual updates for windows.
I was referring to offline integration. I ended up leaving it in my setupcomplete and adding a reboot. I think the reason it creates such a large difference in size is that it makes a unique or many unique files such that the install.wim adds them for each index rather than the one for all indexes of the same architecture.
Code: dism /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup You can do it on an audit-mode image before you sysprep and capture it, but you cannot do it on an offline image.
I noticed this as well, because integrated updates are pending, not yet completely installed. Have you tried on a syspreped image with updates that have completed install, are superseded and are no longer pending install? I think this will work
Interesting thought... You might be onto something there because I just tried it on an image that had nothing integrated and it gave a successful response: Code: Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool Version: 6.2.9200.16384 Image Version: 6.2.9200.16384 The operation completed successfully. I had problems trying this in the past, but I believe it might be related to my usage of adding netfx3 I know it sets it as pending after that. Perhaps a good way to integrate would be to first add all the non-net3 kb files and do a cleanup, then add net3 and the kb files associated... It kind-of seems a bit of a waste, though, as the big hangup was the new 2821895 that compresses the winsxs stuff. Since you cannot do a cleanup after adding that kb file, as it sets it as pending, it doesn't really seem like much of an advantage. I haven't checked the directory sizes before and after cleanups after a full integration. It could be that it does save some room. Or not...
Yes, if you manually install KB2870719, you need to enable the IIS Management Service feature or the IIS Hostable Web Core feature before it will be applicable. If you use an installer script, like burfadel's or komm's, it will install without needing to enable either feature.
Still no word from McRip.
