Having problems installing KB2756872, too. I am getting error code 0x8007000D. After first reboot I get to 11%, then comes another reboot from 7% to 11%, and then it's reverting all changes. I then tried installing the update manually from the msu file, still errors out. Took a look at windowsupdate.log but I couldn't find any specific error message. This happens on a clean installation without any hacks/activators or whatever.

That tool is included in the update package you can download from the Update Catalog (htt p://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/Search.aspx?q=2756872). Alternatively, delete the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WINEVT\Publishers\{8c9dd1ad-e6e5-4b07-b455-684a9d879900 in the registry (if it exists, normally it doesn't). That is all the tool does.

    Hello , All ..
I tried to integrate this "super" update into my WIM image using Windows 8 DISM tool and the integration is ok without any error
but Windows update still show me the update with a lower size, any idea ?

Are KB2761094 and KB2764870 parts of KB2756872 or must be integrated into my WIM separately ?
    Thanks for your answer

Yes, the Windowsupdate release of KB2756872 does contain 3 MSU updates under the banner of KB2756872, including the MSU of KB2756872 itself. KB2756872 has been available for several days now (before it was through Windowsupdate), it's likely that when it was pushed to Windowsupdate, instead of changing the big updatefile, they simply added the two updates as separate installers.

    Thanks for your answer ...

So, the big file isn't updated on MS download site ... after some tests, it seems that the manual installation of the 2 other KB separately solves the problem and WU don't show me
    KB2756872 anymore.
I' ll try to integrate them also in the WIM to see if the problem is solved

My problem is to integrate this update into the WIM images in my Win8 AIO ...
The integration is correct but after installation of any edition WU proposes me again this KB2756872 with a smaller size ( only 5,2 MB for x86) ...
    Thus
if this KB is "special" and doesn't integrate correctly offline into the image
or the 2 other KB proposed on MS site are also required to avoid WU to show me again "KB2756872"
Sorry if my english is too bad

    Hi,
I installed the other 2 on MS site and rebooted.
    WU still shows KB2756872.
    :(

    Hum,
there are probably some install bugs in the update KB2756872... > it doesn't integrate correctly in the images in my case.

    > online WU seems always to be ok in my case on my test machine ...
    > standalone update after win 8 installation works also correctly here ( require both reboot )...

The update also incorporates a GDR and LDR version, so the size isn't truly representative of what it contains. GDR is what will be installed if you don't have any previous qualifying updates installed for it to use the LDR version. GDR contains the 'mainstream' fixes whereas the LDR version also incorporates all previous changes (hotfix and Windowsupdate) pushed. LDR version can be forced installed via the contained update-bf.mum file (update.mum installs the GDR version).

KB2756872 installed fine for me when installing via update-bf.mum, which is the case when using my installer (updates that are GDR or LDR only, and hence only have update.mum, will be installed via that instead). Installing via the .mum files is perfectly fine, it is a proper method of installation and the update is processed on reboot and can be uninstalled like any other update.

By force installing the LDR version via the installer, the update may install successfully (no promises though)! The earlier post I wrote about BSOD with this update is likely due to the Avast beta build I was trying, in the release log for a newer build it lists that BSODS have been resolved.

    Hello ,
My problem to integrate KB2756872 in WIM seems to be fixed ...( tested on x86 install )

First integration of other previous updates available and joined also the 2 updates on the download page of KB2756872 ...
    save WIM etc...

    Open new dism session
integration of the big KB2756872 alone

Save WIM , install Windows OK > no more KB2756872 in WU

I'm going to test in x64 in a few hours ...

The absolute easiest way is to download the 'Installer for Windows Updates v27' in my signature (use winrar or 7zip to extract the script). In the first menu select option 'c', then option '1' or '2' (2 installs updates that aren't already installed). Ideally you place the script in the location of the .msu or .cab files, but if you run it separately it will ask you the location of the files :). The script installs the LDR version of the updates if both LDR and GDR are available.
