The absolute easiest way is to download the 'Installer for Windows Updates v27' in my signature (use winrar or 7zip to extract the script). In the first menu select option 'c', then option '1' or '2' (2 installs updates that aren't already installed). Ideally you place the script in the location of the .msu or .cab files, but if you run it separately it will ask you the location of the files :). The script installs the LDR version of the updates if both LDR and GDR are available.

I tried the tool provided in the signature.. The installation stops after showing an error message.

Update via this Script works. Windows says Reverting Changes but Windows Update says it's installed.
So it seems to work, also notice that my Version of WMP has updated.

Installed Windows 8 as an upgrade install to an MSI netbook (wont install it on my main machine yet) I installed KB KB2756872, it installed OK, but now my all apps screen is blank, & if I try to search apps, the metro screen crashes & reverts to normal desk top. uninstall the update, everything is fine again, any ideas what is causing this?

That shows there is an error with the actual update installing (not script related). I tried googling 0x800f081f, most of the responses were Windows 7 related (and also not very helpful)!

Certainly not these leading to a solution of problems caused by MS. Links to Haktivation or Warez etc are forbidden but useful links are mostly welcome afaik

I also read that wildly inaccurate assumption this morning. 'All of the ppl who complain'.

I love posters like that - prat!

We aren't 'all' compaining, we're trying to resolve what is clearly a very common error.
