Windows 8 Immersive UI unblock file...help!

    What made you guys think that renaming twinui to shsxs would work lol...I don't think they are similar at all.

    You're not going to get ANYWHERE by simply renaming twinui.dll to shsxs.dll. They have completely different exports and are dependencies of other things that are looking for specific exports in them. I've checked in Ida Pro and RegisterImmersivePPIChangeNotification is in the file, however something still isn't working right. NTDLL isn't a new file. NTDLL contains the basic kernel functions for windows lol... it's been around for many windows versions :p And to the notion that you can simply "add more things" into the DLL, you can't. It doesn't work like that.

    Sounds interesting. Did you had to restart your computer when you changed the name of the files?

    Its true, I didn't expected it to work fully either but it did gave a sign of something new.
    Without trying you get nowhere right? :)

    Well get shsxs.dll sometime. I don't think anyone here has a copy (except maybe canouna, he posted a screen with the new thumb keyboard in the immersive browser). It will probably get out after the beta or RC. Remember with longhorn some things leaked much later than others.

    I got music shsxs.dll :D

    But I think the screen with new thumb keyboard is just new build. Why would Microsoft change an already existed keyboard interface with another dll. :S

    Would the shsxs.dll file from an early release like 8xxx unlock Immersive UI on release 7989, if yes, then how to theoricaly enable Immersive UI ?
    I should be able to get that dll from personnal relations (release 8519).

    Edit: I now have the dll from 8519 release (release I do not own !)

    Since I don't own the 8519 release I don't have a real OEM Key.
    Friends of mine as a Microsoft Partner have this release. He won't give me his key, neither his full iso.
