Will PM him. In order to test this dll and see if Immersive UI works, what should I do ? Regedit modification ? Put shsxs.dll into System32 ?
60kb for that shsxs.dll? I think Microsoft became god with making tiny files! Anyway, put it in your system32 folder. Then restart and see how it will not work (sure on it!).
Re-downloading 7989 iso, mine was corrupted. Out of subject: I own an Asus Eee Slate EP121, I realy hope this dll will do the trick, this Immersive UI looks awesome.
Really doubt it, can you maybe send it through PM so I can look into the sources of it? Because 60bk for such file sounds really fake for me.
Won't share, also I have noticed that is 90% copy from apidapi.dll of Windows 7 but only one little script got changed and is not the same as the one in my Windows 7. Still worth a try anyways if that changed code is doing a trick. But its 100% sure not the original shsxs.dll that Microsoft got. Edit: Looked a bit closer into the huge script part of the dll and that one is changed too, so it's less the same.. I would say to try it.
It simply is shsxs.dll from 8519. Looks like my iso was not corrupted by the way, VMware Player always give me a blank list of OS during Windows installation. Don't know why...
Will test this dll asap. Need to fix this s**tty ISO. MD5: 4480f94c0e11ce58dc9b7330678f07dd So the problem come from VMWare...
[22/07/2011 19:05:58] he: windows.8.build.8519.iso The only thing I know for sur is that he got it from Microsoft Partnership as a Microsoft partner company. Installing Windows on my Tablet right now. Will test dll asap. Sharing is not a problem, if this dll works, I will probably share it.
If I could run 7989 on virtualbox then I sure installed it now but don't got hardware acceleration in my CPU supported. And not really thinking on putting it on a second partition.. then I need to wait to browse the web. Lolz
So far I don't know much about this dll, I ony know the guy who send it to me is a good ol'friend. Maybe he mistaked with the windows revision number he told me. I still have one card to play. I know a senior manager working at Microsoft. I know he won't be able to share an iso, but maybe a dll. That would give us something to compare it with.
As I said maybe he mistaked with the release number. You should move to something else now. Edit: Let's wait for the answer of my Microsoft friend....
Okay, let's put an end to this debate. I tried to bring some new informations about this dll. As I'm not owning any Windows 8 build highter than 7989 I can't certify the file I shared was absolutly correct. As I said I might be able to have the file from another source. Maybe it'll still be s**t maybe not. Feel free to take a loot at it when it comes. Stay tuned...
